OIA South terminal project was renovation of an already existing construction. The remodeling of the South terminal complex and connected taxiway encompassed almost 300 acres. The purpose of constructing the airside terminal is to expand the capacity for both international and domestic flights. The airside terminal needed to have at least 16 to 24 gates.
