How to override a Dimension in AutoCAD?

While at work, a situation may arise wherein the dimensions need to be different in styles from the parent style. Such sub-dimensional styles are primarily overridden files.
In order to obtain an overridden file, you need to follow the steps mentioned below:
1. Choose the Annotate tab and click on the Dialog-box launcher arrow on the Dimension Panel. [This arrow appears at the right end of this Dimension Panel’s title bar.]
2. As the Dimension Style Manager opens, choose the particular style that you opt to override. Next, click on ‘Override’!
3. Next, Override Style Dialog Box opens. Make changes in the similar way that you’d do to create a new Dimension Style.
4. The overridden dimension appears in the Styles pane, beneath the parent style.
P.S.: Now, if you again wish to opt for the parent style, open the Dimension Style Manager and opt for the Parent Style. You should remember that this discards the previously Overridden file.
